Welcome Wildcats to the 2023-2024 School Year!!
I am excited to start my tenth year of teaching at MAC and 25th year teaching overall. I graduated from Troy University in Troy, AL with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration, and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I am certified in Elementary Education, Gifted, Reading, and ESOL. I am excited to join to the 6th grade team this year. I will be teaching Science and an amazing fun-filled elective.
My husband and I have been married for 22 years. We have 2 wonderful children, a daughter who is a graduate of the University of Alabama, and entered the working world this year, and a son who attends McKeel Central. If it a Saturday in the fall, you will see me rooting on my alma mater, Troy University GO TROY!, as well as the Alabama Crimson Tide. ROLL TIDE! My hobbies include going on "adventures" with my son and husband as well as going to amusement parks.
My goal is that I want the students to enter my classroom and see a safe learning haven surrounded by positivity, caring, compassion, and excitement. I want them to believe in our class community, and their importance in that community. Furthermore, I believe that students bring unique talents to the science classroom and appreciate the need for different learning and teaching styles in the classroom. It is my hope that my students leave my classroom with a desire for knowledge and appreciation for our natural world around us.
