2nd Grade Team
Welcome to 2nd grade! I am excited to begin another amazing school year with our Wildcats. The 2026–2027 school year marks my 19th year in education and my 13th year at McKeel Academy. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida in 2008. I also hold ESOL, Reading Endorsement, and Literacy Coach Endorsement certifications.
Teaching is truly my passion. I believe every child has the ability to succeed, and my goal is to help each student grow academically while building confidence and a love for learning. One of my favorite parts of teaching is helping students become stronger readers and watching their excitement as they discover new skills and achieve their goals. In our classroom, learning is engaging, hands-on, and student-centered. Throughout the year, students will participate in interactive lessons, collaborative activities, and exciting classroom transformations that bring learning to life. I strive to create a positive environment where every child feels valued, challenged, and inspired to do their very best.
I look forward to partnering with families and making this a memorable year filled with learning, growth, and wonderful experiences. I can't wait to meet my new students and begin this exciting journey together!

Healthy Snack
Snack: We will have snack time each day. Your child is responsible to bring in their own snack each day. Due to allergies this works best for our class. If you would like to send in an extra snack that I can keep for students who forget you are more then welcome to do so. We try to make sure everyone has their own snack each day with them. Below are some ideas of snacks that are healthy for your child to bring to school.
Healthy snack ideas:
pretzels
apples
grapes
cheese crackers
animal crackers
applesauce
carrots
fruit snacks/bars
pickles
goldfish
peanutbutter crackers
fruit cups
etc....
