5th Grade Team
Welcome to McKeel Academy Central and to 5th Grade Math! This is my 19th year teaching and my eleventh year at MAC. I have taught kindergarten, second, fourth, and fifth grades. This is my 10th year teaching fifth grade. I love teaching and have a passion for what I do and the children that I teach. I have lived in Lakeland for most of my life. I graduated from the University of South Florida and am certified to teach grades K-6 and Mathematics 6-12. I also have my ESOL endorsement and Reading Endorsement. I am looking forward to an exciting and successful school year!

We will continue learning about quadrilaterals and the attributes of each shape. We will introduce 3D prisms and pyramids. Our summative will be on Friday, April 26th.
IXL's due 4/26: RR1, RR2, RR3, PP1, PP2, PP3, QQ2, QQ3, QQ4, QQ5, QQ6, QQ8, QQ9, FF1 (6th), FF2 (6th)
Freckle: Students were given Freckle login information. We will use this to begin reviewing previously taught skills. Students will begin with a pretest. It will adapt to the level they test at. My posted goal means that they completed 5th grade level skills. If students are far away from the targeted level it means that they are below level on this skill and need to practice this skill to mastery.

IXL is always due on test day! IXL is assigned as it is introduced in class and should be used as practice of the skill before taking the summative. Do not wait until last minute to complete IXL's from the entire unit.
